Hardin
Memorial
Hospital continues to update and improve its facility to meet the health care needs of the residents of
Hardin
County and is committed to be your health care provider of choice.
At the beginning of 2008 the construction crews began to renovate the Intensive Care Unit area to better serve our patients. Keeping our goal of family-focused care in mind, the area began to take shape. ?xml:namespace>
In October the second phase of the project was complete and fully functional. The new area features:
Private and spacious rooms - The rooms have designated areas for patients, family and caregivers. Sleep chairs give family members the capability to spend the night with the patient. The rooms are equipped with restroom facilities and private entrance doors.
Efficient work space for staff - The nurse's station is designed to be open so family members are not intimidated to approach and ask questions.
Natural sunlight - Windows let in plenty of sunlight to create a better healing atmosphere.
Waiting area and hallway - The waiting area is updated and more private. The modernized hallway features local scenic pictures, and the restroom facilities located on the third floor are designated as family facilities.
Pam Beverly, the Director of the Intensive Care Unit stated, "The completion of the ICU renovation is wonderful. The private patient rooms are large enough for the nursing staff to function in and allow family members to remain when appropriate. The colors and lighting make a relaxing atmosphere that promotes rest for the patients. It is an area that the community will be proud of for years to come."
