Kenton, Ohio - Hardin Memorial Hospital's Board of Trustees began their meeting by welcoming new members, Dr. Todd Oates and Chip Root. Both Dr. Oates and Mr. Root, have been serving on board sub-committees since January 2012.
The Finance/Audit/Compliance Committee report revealed that year-to-date the hospital system's operating margin is running slightly above budget.
The Quality of Care Committee met to receive reports and to review physician applications. The Committee made a recommendation and the Board approved to appoint Mauricio Gomez, MD, Neurologist to staff at HMH.
The Community Needs Committee reviewed the hospital's current Balanced Scorecard results as well as the Press Ganey and HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) customer satisfaction results for the second quarter of Fiscal Year 2013 (October through December 2012). Chris Davis, Public Relations Director, reported on the Community Health Assessment which will be discussed further at length at the next meeting. Davis also distributed a list of the community events that the hospital either participated or held in 2012 and also mentioned the events coming up in 2013.
The Senior Management Report was given by Mr. Mark Seckinger, HMH President, who reported that the next renovation project to the Emergency Department is still in the planning stages. Currently the architect is working on site plans.
To conclude the meeting an invitation was extended to attend "Heart Smart Day" on Tuesday, February 14 from 8 to 10:30 a.m. in the hospital's Specialty Center. Many free screenings and valuable information will be available by hospital staff. The program is free and open to the public.
